It's said that Darkness strangles Life
the sky a deadly sea
But why does Darkness cause such strife
to humans like you and me?
The Darkness carries with it cold
a state of standing still
And motion means Life we behold
its strongly beating will

All Life in teeming Ecstasy
is grasping toward the Light
The Light is just the energy
that keeps us in the fight
It's not about when we can win
but how long we can go
How much farther will our kin
last through the winter snow?

On Earth we live in safety here
beneath our Mother's wing
But every winter we will peer
beyond her loving spring
Toward endless darkness we will gaze
beyond the longest night
To ween us off the shortest days
and train us for our plight

So many have gazed upon the stars
and dreamed of our future Quest
But few of them have seen the bars
of Darkness we must best
Our destiny lives in The Sky
beyond the greatest height
The winter is practice to pry
beyond Eternal Night
